We are a gym that utilises combat training methods to get our clients fit; we have a stable of competitive boxers, kickboxer’s and MMA fighters so you have the credibility of belonging to a REAL combat gym.
We are conscious that gyms, especially combat gyms, can be intimidating places, particularly for first timers.
However, City Boxing is committed to creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our clients. It’s a fun place with friendly people willing to help you.



You don’t have to dress up to come to our gym. You don’t have to be fit. You just have to want to be fit. We’ll get you there. You don’t have to be tough. You just have to be keen and have a positive attitude. You’ll harden up quick enough.

Class Descriptions

All our classes are suitable for any skill or fitness level from those that haven't ever set foot in a gym to the budding fitness junkie.

Boxing: A high intensity, action packed class filled with a combination of bag, partner and functional weight movement (Duration: 45 – 60 minutes)

S&C: (Strength & Conditioning): A 45 minute class structured to develop your physical and mental strength. Through using strength and conditioning protocols and methods tied in with modified strongman movements you will work our way to a better you.

Lolo's Boxing/Kickboxing: Train under Master Lolo Heimuli focusing on all stand up techniques, whether your passion is boxing, kickboxing, muay thai or MMA we have it all in this class topped off with an intense edge including pad and bag work. (Duration: 60 minutes)


Lolo's Skill Sesh: This class breaks down boxing into simple and easy to pick up methods, perfect for those that want to improve their boxing skill base and brush up on the science of boxing. (Duration: 60 minutes)

ChickFit: For chicks , a boxing and conditioning class that uses boxing for cardio with a mix of body and light weight exercises with emphasis on core, gluteus and legs. (Duration: 45 minutes)

 Yoga : The perfect companion (and sometimes antidote) to complete any physical routine. Join us to stretch and breathe your body through a series of flowing postures (vinyasa flow is our style). Invigorate, tone, reset the body and for another week at City Boxing. Build the body worthy of the soul to reside. (Duration: 60 minutes)

Taaz MMA/ Stand Up : Our Stand up is Muay Thai, Boxing and Taekwondo Based. Our ground work is Jiu Jitsu based. Our training classes can change depending on the skill set on everyone in that class, but we take beginners to advance to fighters. Overall we will teach you, how to protect yourself, while giving you the opportunity to test those skills in the ring as well if you feel that is your goal












Our Trainer’s are all experienced athletes and boxing trainers who are committed to motivate their clients. They are hard but enoy their job, and keep it safe at all times.

Lolo is a legend in the fight game from boxing to MMA. In 2013 he was awarded the Legendary Life Time Achievenment from the NZ Pacific Island Sports Awards which is but a glimmer of his contribtion to the sport. As the Director of Combat he overseas the fight side of the gym. 

Carlos Ulberg - Boxing and Personal Trainer

Carlos is an undefeated boxer, looking to make his mark in the fight game his classes are fitness based yet technical, making for a good mix 


Selby Devereux - Strength & Conditioning Coach

Selby specializes in human performance and fight specific training. Selby also competes in Kickboxing, MMA and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in which he holds a blue belt under professor Steve Oliver.

Level 1 qualified Coach.

We are looking for personal trainers, if you are interested in training your clients out of City Boxing contact us at 



Our team is filled with fighters of all levels of skills and expertise from those training for their first fight to that that are world ranked and perform on the international scene


There are a few things that you’ll need to know before joining the team:

• Safety is paramount – you won’t be put into sparring or fighting if you are not ready for it. Everyone is different and there is no clear cut timeline for each individual’s progress. Just trust in our world class coaching that you will jump into the ring when you are equipped with the right skills to compete well and defend yourself.
• The fight game is not to be taken lightly and will require a high level of commitment; if you are training to fight you are expected to attend a minimum of four fighter’s classes a week.
• Although we will teach you skills such as punching bio-mechanics, foot work and defensive tactics the fight team is for those that have a good fitness level and know how to punch accurately.
• Other than that all you’ll need to bring with you is commitment, courage and coachability and we’ll help you reach your fighting goals.

You must have all of the following gear before participating in fighters classes:

• 16 oz gloves
• Head Gear
• Mouth Guard
• Groin Guard
• Shin Pads (if kick boxing)
